About Jessica

I am a queer woman living with chronic illness, and most importantly a passionate advocate for people healing from all forms of oppression, violence, and trauma, especially domestic and sexual violence. I care about helping to build a safer and more just world through a combination of social change and directly supporting people. I believe that everyone deserves to have peace, safety, and respect in their lives, and I hope to be a part of creating that in the therapy room with people from all walks of life – especially those who want to build healthy relationships with themselves and others, and to heal from past trauma and abuse. Before starting graduate school for social work, I have worked for many years as an advocate for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

I will receive my Master of Social Work from Portland State University in June 2027, and currently practice under supervision of Joey Tomlinson, MSW and Daniel Ryu, Psy.D.

My Approach

People who’ve worked with me in the past have described my approach as warm and empathetic and as creating a very safe, “soft” space where people feel comfortable, seen, and heard. My hope is that through our work together, you grow to feel supported and empowered to live a life you’re proud of and excited to live.

My approach to therapy is to collaborate with you using what you're already great at to reach your self-defined goals, using techniques that have been supported by research. I am an advocate at heart – I believe in self-determination and empowerment, so you’ll always have someone rooting for you.

I have training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a structured short-term treatment for trauma. Feel free to reach out to discuss if CPT might be right for you. We will work together to find an approach that is most supportive to you.

Outside of Work

In my free time, I like to spend time in nature, making art, exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and cuddling my dog. Fun fact: before I went into advocacy and mental health work, I was a geologist!
